Yes, he really is.
This week keynote was excellent. As TechCrunch is reporting, the top brass of Apple we’re at the top of their game. This the best post Steve Jobs era keynote that was given. By far.
Seems Tim Cook was right by saying that Apple would double down on security because nobody seems to have a clue of what is really coming with iOS 7. No screen shot leaks. No spy videos. No iPhone forgot in a bar. No nothing.
I agree with Matthew Panzarino from The Next Web, there was much more interesting questions that they could have asked to Tim Cook at the D11 conference. They spent too much time on very basic items like the f****** TV and what comes next. Apple is such a great company on many front and this is because of people who work there. Thse people are very talented and the challenge for Apple is to keep them and retain the talent. How can Tim Cook is dealing with this? Is he afraid to lose these A-class employees?
Beside that, I encourage you to listen to Tim Cook’s answers while he talked at the Duke Fuqua School of Business. He had great comments and observations on many subjects.
One cannot compare the iPod product line expansion in the past to the potential iPhone product line expansion. Both lines are serving a very different need.
Surprise statement by Tim Cook yesterday regarding Apple openness or closeness. According to him, Apple is willing to open up a bit but without compromising security and user experience. That being said, I think Mr. Cook is specifically referring to a new feature in iOS 7: allowing the user to set default apps for well defined tasks like managing mails, surfing the web, and the like. Mark my words.
This will be a must see interview.
