It seems that proposing incremental update of the Galaxy S3 (via the Galaxy S4) isn’t going to cut it for Samsung either, just like the iPhone 4S for Apple. Oh, wait, it did for Apple.

Here we go. Sept 12th Apple event is a go. So the new iPhone will be called the iPhone 5. Why? People don’t give a damn nor know about the fact that this will be the sixth generation of the iPhone. People do know about the iPhone 4S that people expected to be called the iPhone 5 back in october, 2011. The next device has to be named the iPhone 5. Period. And this is exactly how Apple will name the device.

When the iPhone 4S came out, many people said they were unimpressed by the “small revision” of the 15 months old iPhone 4. As I expected, many started to say: well, Apple is already loosing its edge because Steve Jobs isn’t there anymore. Personally, I think Steve Jobs involvement in product revisions was much less than in product redesigns or new product categories creation. I would say that for the original iPhone, the MackBook Air, the iPhone 4. So, To me, for someone who is counting his weeks of life on earth, I would try to spent my time on new things the are really game changers. The iPhone 5 maybe one of the real last project Steve Jobs was really involved with.
