Whomp! (There it is.)

So here it is: 82% of new tablets are iPads.
It’s a holiday miracle!
Without further adieu, Tumblr for iPad is finally here. We hope you like it as much as we do.
(And don’t forget — Tumblr is awesome on your Android tablet too!)
At long last. Good start.
Now available on your Android tablet!
Tumblr’s app for tablet is out: for Android! WTF! As popular as the Nexus can be, it is in now way close to the iPad popularity! WTF Tumblr!
So here it is. 84 days since the launch of iOS 6. It feels fresh but way too much Android. I hate much of the design of this. Speaking of Android, according to David Pogue’s review, Google admits that Maps for iOS is better than Android version but lack the iPad support. No wonder why Android tablets are so crippled, they just don’t know how to make software for them it seems.
Finally, look carefully at what Google is offering with their own Maps. What did Apple want from Google that they couldn’t or refused to do that isn’t part of Google Maps now? 3D maps?
This picture shows how much the current full size iPad is becoming the one out of this world… It is the next to see a skin change in 2013…

“A news app needs to care about its software to the same high degree that print publications care about their paper, page design, and distribution.”
It baffles me that The Verge didn’t ask about Tumblr’s plan for an iPad version of their client. I personally think that release 3.2 was created in order to be made universal and run natively on the iPad.
The Tumblr iOS app just went from “great” to “spectacular”.
So fast. So clean. So native.
I like the faster feel of this updated Tumblr client. The app has been improved quite frequently in the last few months. But, I don’t like the pictures being over sized compared to their header and footer. This look too much like the Facebook app. And, more importantly, the fact that this app isn’t updated for the iPad baffles me.
Many seems to fall in love with the iPad mini after owning the full size iPad. I find it a bit surprising as I wonder why. I love the bigger size and the Retina Display. But I never touch the iPad mini. This could explain why I’m surprised.
What is more surprising is this: the iPad mini legitimacy seems to come because the full size iPad came before. What if Apple came out with the mini saying this is the next logical step to the iPod touch.
I think the 9.7-inch size was better to start with conceptually, to establish the iPad in consumers’ minds as something they might want to own. - John Gruber
For those who do want a side-by-side comparison chart, Rene Ritchie of iMore went ahead and updated the one Amazon made to be slightly more accurate.
Ah! Much better now.
